クリスチャン・ダビッド『キュア・バザー』『オノレ・デ・プレ』創設者

革新的なパリのエコシックを世界に

パリで最もシックな通り、フォーブル・サントノレ通りに暮らすクリスチャン・ダビッド。名だたるコスメブランドの商品企画を経て、独立・起業したクリスチャンは、フレグランスの〈オノレ・デ・プレ〉や、ネイルカラーの〈キュア・バザー〉といった、革新的なオーガニックブランドを次々とスタートさせる。彼が最初に香水を始めたのは、南仏グラースの街を訪れたことがきっかけだという。
「現地で長い香水の歴史に触れ、本当に良い素材から作るフレグランスが失われつつあることを知りました。ナチュラルな香りをまとうことが、“新しいパリのエレガンス＝エコシック”だと僕自身、考えています」
その後仕事で訪れたアメリカで、ネイル文化に深く感銘を受け、帰国後すぐに〈キュア・バザー〉をブラジル出身のモデル・カルティカとともにスタートする。「ナチュラルでありながらも、ファッショナブルであることを大切にする。それが私たちの強みなのです」。

Bringing paris' innovative
eco-chic to the world

Christian David lives on Rue du Faurbourg Saint-Honore, one of the most chic streets in Paris, a fashion capital.
After having worked for development of various brand-name cosmetics, Christian opened his first cutting-edge fragrance store, ‘Honore des Pres’ in Paris, followed by revolutionary nail lacquer brand, 'Kure BAZAAR'.
His personal journey to Grasse, a community in southern France known for its development in fragrances, was what gave him the inspiration of starting a new business. "In Grasse, I was lucky enough to learn the long history and traditions of fragrance and realized that few fragrances were made from fine natural ingredients. I believe wearing natural scented fragrance is the 'New Paris elegance= Eco-chic.'
Later, Christian was on a business trip to the U.S. and was deeply impressed by the nail culture. He soon started 'Kure BAZAAR' with a Brazilian supermodel Kartika Luyet. "We are natural, but still fashionable, and that is our signature strength."

回帰するオーガニックライフ

スイスとの国境近く、フランシュ・コンテ地方の雄大な自然の中で生まれ育ったクリスチャンにとって、一番のリラックスタイムは自然の中に身を置くこと。そんな彼は10年前、食事や化粧品、衛生用品、生活にまつわるすべてを、100%ナチュラルなものしか使わない生活に変えたという。
「僕にとってオーガニックは、食事や肌に触れるものを示すだけでなく、トータルなライフスタイルすべてに当てはまります。それに健康を保つには、適度な運動、睡眠。そして精神を穏やかに保つことが、なによりも重要なこと。僕はもともと緑の多い土地で生まれ育ったので、このような生活の変化は、ある日突然思い立ったわけではないんです。どちらかといえば、原点回帰のようなものなのかもしれません。今はオーガニックライフを大切にしていますが、これから年を重ねるごと、またその考え方は変化するかもしれないですけどね」。

Back to the source of organic life

Christian was born and raised in an excellent natural environment in Franche-Comte located near the Swiss border. He enjoys most by being surrounded by the wild nature to relax. 10 years ago, he has switched to 100% natural life, using only natural products and eating organic food.
"For me, organic means everything. It's not just about what I consume, but a total lifestyle. A good sleep and exercise is vital for staying healthy, and keeping my mind constantly calm is important as well. Luckily, I grew up surrounded by nature, so this lifestyle feels very natural for me and like I'm going back to my own roots. I am currently comfortable with the way things are, but will never know if my thoughts will differ in the future."

再考することを忘れずに

常に走りまわり、興味のあるものすべてに手を伸ばす、めまぐるしい“速さ”の中で、1日1日を送っていたという５年前。これからは、地中海の小さな島と都会を行き来する２拠点生活を送り、スローで穏やかな時の中にいる時間を大切にできたらという。そんなクリスチャンが、次世代へ向けて伝えたいこととは。
「僕が暮らしているパリは、文化とスタイル、そして歴史の深い街。美しさやクリエイティビティは、当然のようにして引き継がれていくでしょう。それに加えてパリで暮らす人々のアーティスティックな感性も後世に続いていって欲しいと願っています。
今、インターネットの普及によって、人々の働き方や、モノへの価値観が世界的に変わってきているように感じています。本当にいいものを見失わないよう、再考するということを忘れないように。人々に気づきのきっかけを起こし続けられたらと思っています」。

Always remember to reconsider

Christian had been living a very busy life, trying everything that caught his interest and internationally flying around. Now he is settled in the city in a small island in the Mediterranean, enjoying a slow and relaxing life. What is his message for the next generations?
“We live in Paris where we have rich culture, style and history. Beauty and creativity we see here in this country shall surely be carried over for the next generation. And the artistic sense of mind as well. With the recent global growth of the internet, I feel it has been effecting our working styles and point of views. In order to keep our faith and not to lose the true values of our lives, I am wishing to offer chances for people to reconsider and awake their mind."
